Technical paper

This is what is supposed to be on the bottom left corner of my technical paper.

Alright.... just when i thought i finally had a gadet that is going to last me more than 2 years.... some mother fucker son of a bitch assholic wanker stole my ipod while i was in the toilet.

Ok i admit, i am eyeing on that cute red nano... but to get it stolen is too much. Don't let me catch your ass, i swear to god i will make u feel sorry.

May your hands rot and ears bleed. Cross the road with my noise isolating earphones and get hit by a bus, then fly to the other side of the road and get run over by a lorry. Pedestrians walking past will laugh at your sorry pancaked ass.

Argh... ok thats cruel. but the world is cruel anyway and i am just being consistent.

Now i will have to waste my time on every single ipod lucky draw in the world.

What is research?

Well... it is just one fucking thing after another.

Yes thats what it is!

First, you do something like literature survey. This is a painsaking process of deciphering all the crap shit other researchers have published over the years ever since the scientific community invented something called the Nobel Prize. These research papers include fanciful photographs and other complicated mathematical models or simulations. Sometimes it is highly suspected that these papers are written for the sake of giving out phDs or for the university to become so called "world class".

Next, you need to do experiments. These experiments sometimes consists of replicating experiments that had been done by other researchers to see if they are cheating, faking results, manipulating data, very lucky, or the more probable reason, to see if u are just plain stupid. Most of the time, you get wierd data. If u are a scientist, then great... you could have discovered something new, something that will contribute to mankind and you might just win the nobel prize. BUT if u are a fyp student, most probably its because the equipment u are using has its limitations (in layman's term: Fucking lousy) or that you are just not blessed with good luck.

Then u write your thesis, 100 pages of nonsense that your prof most probably won't be interested in. Why? Because it is full of procedural elaboration, failure descriptions, non-conclusive analysis and maybe lot of ideas in the future work section.

What to do with unaccomplished objectives?! Simple,
Step1: Remove them from the first chapter under the experimental objectives list.
Step2: Put them under the future work list.

Get the idea?!

2 more weeks!!! Cheers to the end of torture... welcome to exams and then unemployment...

Its seven plus and i am still here, at my cicfar lab. I am feeling tired, brain dead, sian, hungry and questioning my miserable existence in this world. Ok, i am exaggerating. There are only two words to describe my predacement.....

FUCKED UP!!!!!!

Sorry for the vulgarities. I am trying hard not to swear on my blog as from the time it got re-vamped. (In case you never noticed, the new blue background?!) But sometimes, there is just no better word.

Stuff i did today....

1. Clean wafers
2. Spin resist - have to redo it 2 times because somehow the coating turns out uneven. Redoing step 2 requires step 1 to be repeated as well.
3. I-V measurements at the probe station - have to redo it 1 time because the PA did not register my values on the disk!!! %@$%^@^!!!
4. Annealing of nanowire at the furnace.

The only consolation is that i am able to get some results from the annealing step which i did yesterday... :) So life ain't such a piece of **** after all.

Ok, crossing my fingers!!!! Let me have sufficient results and success by this sunday so that i will be able to wrap my FYP up!!!
