Have you ever felt that sometimes, many thoughts and feelings are unable to accurately put in words or sentences? They are just left constantly swimming at the back of your head, occasionally coming forth to consume you... Don't it sometimes feel worst when you are alone?

I will look forward and walk ahead as i know that many a time, there's no turning back...

I live my life, its the thing I do...
I like to have it my way, and so do you..
Live it well, don't be a fool...
For an un-inspiring life is so uncool...

Exams are here again, there isn't much time...
As a student, i think i have passed my prime...
Sick and tired of not being able to shine...
Sometimes i wish i can live a life of crime...

There are times, when i like to be alone...
keeping silent, not speaking until i use the phone...
so pardon my unfriendly tone...
but please really, just be gone...

I should have been doing my work but somehow i ended up surfing aimlessly. So i have decided to pop by and pen a few words in this mostly neglected blog of mine.

FYP is such a drag. So much for the luck i had on friday the 13th. The 2 electrodes that i had did not have good electrical contacts and hence, i will have to redo the whole process of trying to lay that nanowire across 4 electrodes again. ARGH!!!!!!! To make matters worst, my prof now wants me to make a mosfet using the nanowires that JH had made. WOW..... my very own mosfet device... how exciting..........:

Somehow, i have been drifting aimlessly for the past 2 months... Not having any real goals or objectives, not really putting effort into the things i do, not really caring. Ok, in short... I just seemed to DON'T GIVE A DAMN to anything anymore. Time to buck up, time to wake up!!!!! Exams and fyp beckons....... in 3 weeks time? Thats an awfully short time...

Listening to classical piano pieces. Music keeps happy.

Friends

Many of my friends have questioned me why i didn't update my blog for so long. Hmm... well it had been more than 3 months since my last update isn't it? I had taken a long break from blogging....writers block! It had been a turbulent roller-coaster past 3 months for me and i wasn't really in the mood to write especially since i cannot write anything positive at all.

As inspired by one of Clarence's recent blog entry, i have decided to come out with a
similar one! I am really thankful for the group of friends that i have in Engine. Yeah, you guys know who u are! Really enjoyed hanging out with you guys, you ppl make my life in Engine run like some comedy drama! If we are not bitching about some academic related shit, we are joking or laughing over other stuff.... like we how we love squeezing black heads!!!!! >.<

So heres a little tribute to each of you ppl...

KQY
Ahhhhh..... Those famous initials. I must certainly say you are the life of our group. If we are all planets in the solar system, then you must be the sun. Always the centre of our jokes and teases! Always able to take it so well... always the cheerful dude with the distinctive, trademark chuckle. You are also a very good listener.... always willing to listen. Sorry to put u at the wrong side of my temper once in a while, appreciate your patience.... A very sincere, good natured dude.

ZH
This guy spares a thought for EVERYBODY but HIMSELF. Always very helpful, earnest and sincere. Very hardworking too!!! You gave me the impression that you always do the dirty work yet not even complain!!! He is very sweet to his gf too!!! Someone who will always walk that extra mile.... for everybody....

CJ
I can say 151 is the most fucked up bus in the whole universe and i look at this guy and i can immediately know that he understands every single word that i say!!!! LOL. Always very funny, the "kai xin guo"!!!! Whenever you are in a foul mood, it will jus disappear when u see him. He has this aura of happiness around him that somehow will just lift our moods. I seriously love your jokes! One day must eat abalone noodles with u ....

Wf
Only got to know her better recently. This girl seemed aloof at first but actually turned out to be rather crappy, lame and often full of shit! YEs, so Sorry for screaming at you during 2001 when i lost my temper ok??? Don't niam abt it liao.. haha.... You are also a very good listener with very rational advice. Someone whom you can share your thoughts with knowing that she will keep them like a swiss vault. Rock music rulez...!

Lup
Hey, you are one of the few people whom i can talk non-stop with. Remember our PGP days??? I think i lost so much saliva talking with you man. Playing winning 11 with you is a hilarious experience. I think you are probably the one who is the most sensitive in the group. Sensitive not in the bad sense but rather, someone who seemed to know and understand your feelings and moods. Too bad we din get hall again manz.... Next sem la... Next sem we apply again!

Kaiz
I thought this guy was a A-type machine but recently i am beginning to see the human side of him :P I know you might be blunt most of the time but your intentions meant well. Hope you will finally find your compass in life. Stay cheerful dude.

KL
Calm and collected. My impression of u back in BMT and now in NUS is totally different! This guy looks mafia... even gothic when he lack of sleep, but actually he is a very even tempered person. You are totally amazing, not bulking to stress, unpeasant situations or anything! He is also someone who is very thoughtful of others.

ZM
You are SI BEI funny can.... Always the happy go lucky type. Your Blackhead joke really made me rollll. Don't see this guy siao one, always everything also want to confirm and guarantee, but actually hor very caring and helpful person at heart... esp sweet to his gf TWL. The 2 of them are inseparable! See one and u see the other... You 2 make a cute couple la haha...

WL
This gal, speaks very similarly with her bf, ZM. Look at them talk to each other also want to laugh. She will and will always be willing to do anything and everything for her bf. Admirable! The 2 of you are so accomodating to each other, i think can put on e-bay sell as model couple liao.... Haha... wedding bells ring that time must remember to invite all of us hor!!!

IDM
The misunderstood. Actually i do feel bad. I think he is a nice person at heart, just blunt and often misunderstood. He is actually a very helpful person... He might not click well with us but lets give him a 2nd chance shall we?

haha.. I am so glad to know all of you ppl!!! Hope these are little somethings that can put a smile on your faces when u guys sleep tonight.

Fade Away - Oasis

One of my all time favourite rock song....

When I was young
I thought I had my own key
I knew exactly what I wanted to be
Now Im sure
Youve boarded up every door

Lived in a bubble
Days were never ending
Was not concerned
About what life was sending
Fantasy was real
Now I know much
About the way I feel

Ill paint you the picture
cause I dont think you live round here no more
Ive never even seen
The key to the door
We only get what we will settle for

While were living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away
While were living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away
While were livingThe dreams we have as children
Fade away
While were livingThe dreams we have as children
Fade away, away, away
They fade away, away, away

Now my life has turned
Another corner
I think its only best
That I should warn you
Dream it while you can
Maybe someday
Ill make you understand

Ill paint you the picture
cause I dont think you live round here no more
Ive never even seen
The key to the door
We only get what we will settle for

While were living
The dreams we have as children
Fade awayWhile were living
The dreams we have as children
Fade awayWhile were living
The dreams we have as children
Fade awayWhile were living
The dreams we have as children
Fade away, away, away
They fade away, away, away
They fade away, away, away
Fade away, away, away

ever thought of how true those lyrics meant? Have the dreams you had when you were a child fade away?

Downtown east

Chalet at downtown east this weekend with sormui and her family. 100% fun with BBQ, some pool, x-box, mahjong, theme-park. HAhaha...! Even had a potrait of us done on a potrait machine. Supposedly by Leonardo ;)

BBQ was super fun although we really took quite awhile to get the fire started. Dear's dad helped out with a rather unsual idea of putting charcoal on the wire mesh, then put another layer of wire mesh above. According to him, thats for air circulation. The result? We had the fire up in 5 mins, and a little oven like compartment for the corns and sweet potatoes... I am gonna do tat next time too man! There was alot of food. Even with about 12 of us, we still have problem finishing all the food...

The next day, we went to Escape Theme Park. Well, its included in the chalet package... And the best thing of all, all the rides are included too. So we tried some rides here and there and basically jus have an afternoon of fun. Only managed to take 1 photo on top of the ferris wheel. ( can't be taking photos on the vikings or other rides... )

Simple weekend get-aways like these can bring an unexpected amount of fun... haha... At least with activities like these, it will make work during the week less sianz...

Oh no.. its monday tomorrow... sigh.. the blues man ... the blueeessss

It has been hell of a month.... Sleepless nights, temper eruptions, hunger pangs, long periods of absolute sian-ness. Welcome to the life of an NUS ECE undergrad. You won't know how siong is it until u take their so called level2000 "mini-project". What a name... ****

I just realised something amazing, i can freaking debug a circuit board for the whole night... literally from after dinner till 8am the next day non-stop. We saw a ray of light and got that damn thing working at about 7am the next day after more than 12 hours of debugging and stuff...... Then guess what it is not working again. So guess what? We are at it again the next following night. So all in all, we only slept less than 10 hours for the past 3 days! Amazing???? thats not amazing enough! Whats more amazing is that damn circuit board is NOT WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN!!!!

Argh..............................................

ee2001

The EE2001 project is aimed at providing students with experience in analog and digital circuit design, prototyping circuits, testing and debugging, system integration and hardware construction. Each student is expected to spend around 40 hours on the project including documentation.

SHITTY!!!!!
( i have edited it to suit women and kids as i have recieved numerous complains abt my expletives filled blog... I have also decided to tone down and do some self-censorship of my blog. Well, this is not a country of free-speech... and i dun want no govt behind me, ready to poke my a**)

This is typically how an exam-CAP-money orientated nus under-states the workload that it pushed to its poor students.

OASIS 23rd Feb2006 Free Standing

I must say, the experience of hearing a rock band is totally different from what you get from tv, or from a CD, mp3 or whatever. Rock played live is what it should be... LOUD!!! However, i thought that the band could be more interactive with the crowd rather than muttering a few words in between songs in their strong British accent.

The concert was scheduled to start at 8, but it was not until 8.30pm when the lights dim and the band began walking in. Soon, we could hear Noel's electric guitar strumming in the background and the crowd cheered! The stage lit up with multi-colored spot lights... Then Liam walked forward towards the mike with the opening song "Turn up the Sun" from their new album "Don't Believe the Truth".

"I carry a madness...... Everywhere i go........"
Liam truly have a unique way of singing his tunes...
"Over the border........ and back to the snow........."

i am not a huge fan of Oasis but i must say, they sound very good live. Their new album is definitely than their last 2, which suck.......
If you like Definitely Maybe, you will most probably like Don't Believe the Truth...

Anyway, there were lotsa angmos over there. I was thinking that maybe MOST of the ang mos in Singapore were down there in the indoor stadium rocking away. At 1.70cm tall in the free standing arena, i must say that i was rather vertically challenged.

Short girls had their boyfriends carrying them on their shoulders. How about short guys like me? Remember the last time when you watch a live concert on TV? Remember how people on the arena below the stage were jumping up and down frantically. Hmmm, now i finally know the true reason. Other than dancing (jumping) to the music, they are attempting to jump above the heads of the taller dudes in front for a better view of the band on stage. So i must say that the band really had me rocking (vertically) to their tunes man!!!

Inconsiderate, ungracious lot!

A bunch of indians foreign students were playing cricket at the tennis court downstairs. Cricket seemed to be a favourite national sport for them. Ok they were rather noisy, but i guess its bearable once the windows are closed. Watching them play was quite entertaining.......

Later that night, Rayner, Chaojin and I went downstairs to the exercise corner beside the tennis court to do some stretching exercise. We were horrified by the mess left behind. Packets of lunch boxes were everywhere. There were more inside the tennis court where the indians used to be playing cricket. Damn inconsiderate, uncivilised bastards!!!! Don't they know to clear their trash? There were packets of food everywhere. In the tennis court, on the sit-up bench, stretching area at the exercise corner. Chaojin, being a fitness freak who uses the area frequently, was cleaning up after them. Thats really fucked up uncivilised barbaric behaviour of them!!!! ccb!

Ministry of Sound

When to Ministry of Sound last Friday..... Funny how Boon reacted when we tried ask him to join us as well.

Philo: eh boon... go MOS this Friday leh .....
Boon: Eh... why not we go chomp chomp instead. The burgers there small leh....
Philo: -_-"

I think we Singaporeans used way too many acronyms.

Joey joined me and my secondary school friends for the bash...... Here is a pic of us in my hostel room, all set and ready to go. Girls dressing up, putting on makeup and stuff typically takes at least an hour (usually more...). Guys in the meantime can occupy their time styling their hair or watching tv....
The queue to MOS was long, but the wait was not. We waiting for about half an hour before we finally got inside. My malicious side of me was half hoping that it would rain so that the remaining people outside would just go home and not crowd the place too much.

We were greeting by optic fibres hanging from the ceiling that changes colour every few seconds. It looks very nice, making the place look rather posh.

The dance floor.... It was so damn crowded. Obviously it wasn't raining outside. By 12am, the whole dance floor was so crowded, people were dancing ass to ass literally.
Our cover charge includes 2 drinks. For that night Girls was $12 while the Guys $16 i think.... So it wasn't too expensive. Maybe the club is new and they would be raising prices next time. I had a tequila shot and a volka lime. Joey had 2 volka limes.... The first volka lime taste like water. So diluted. Stupid noobish bartender.... :P The 2nd one was pretty strong. The bartender spilled half the glass of my volka lime. He then top up the rest with well... even more volka. So i guess i had lots more volka in my 2nd glass then anybody else that night....

By 1.30am it got so crowded that we decided to leave. Moving from one point to the other in the club involves pushing around and drinks spilling onto each other while the crowd tried to jostle, push and dance from one place to another. Definitely more crowded than New Years Count down minus those stupid foreign workers.....

My secondary school friends + my dear. Photo taken using my camera phone. From left, Qingwen, Joey, Meilian, Lilian, Philo.

Rainy days

It had been raining for 2 whole days now and the news reports just mentioned that this will continue for the next 3 days. I enjoyed the cool weather but not the wet conditions.

Moved my stuff into PGP today and did the rest of the cleaning. Joey and mum helped out in most of the cleaning :P as i totally sucked with the broom and dust pan. Might be staying over on thursday, see how it goes.

Got to know two more people in my cluster. Both of them SEP students. One of them is from Hong Kong and the other, from his accent and all, i think he is a canadian chinese but i am not too sure. Its a pretty wierd scenario how i got to talking with the Hong Kong guy. He was cooking his lunch ( instant noodles with some yong tau fu stuff) and i was in the kitchen to wash my hands. We did some introduction and stuff and found out that he is currently in 3rd year studying computer engineering and this is his 2nd semester here now. So its pretty weird that we only met 1 semester later O.0 We started chatting until we were interrupted when whatever he was cooking sorta overheat and the soup started foaming out. He said "Oh shit.... how how???" and clumsily tried to wipe off the mess and stop the foaming. Then he asked mi "Can you cook?" and i said no....
haha..... and he gave me the helpless look that seriously made me laugh.

Happy New Year 2006!

Happy New Year!!!! Its another year of not counting down to the new year for me. The new year's crowd is not for me, though i am very tempted to go to a party on new years eve, may it be Zouk or Club MoMo. But i couldn't find company!!! Shucks.... so in the end i ended up in my friend's place, boon playing winning eleven and doing a solemn count down. Geeez~ !
Serious urge to chiong.... I NEED TO CHIONG!!!! argh........ haha i think i am suffering from alcohol and party withdrawal symdromes.
Oh.. speaking of new years, its not just about counting down, parties and all that stuff. There are also reflections as well as new year resolutions. Enough of the "my new yr resolution is not to have a new yr resolution" Thats a pretty lame statement. My new years resolution for 2006?

Anger Management!!!!

Guess i will need to control my temper more as well as be more patient. Stop being easily irritable and please stop snapping at people around you when you are pissed.

Working towards a calmer, more patient as well as a more even tempered alex....
