OASIS 23rd Feb2006 Free Standing

I must say, the experience of hearing a rock band is totally different from what you get from tv, or from a CD, mp3 or whatever. Rock played live is what it should be... LOUD!!! However, i thought that the band could be more interactive with the crowd rather than muttering a few words in between songs in their strong British accent.

The concert was scheduled to start at 8, but it was not until 8.30pm when the lights dim and the band began walking in. Soon, we could hear Noel's electric guitar strumming in the background and the crowd cheered! The stage lit up with multi-colored spot lights... Then Liam walked forward towards the mike with the opening song "Turn up the Sun" from their new album "Don't Believe the Truth".

"I carry a madness...... Everywhere i go........"
Liam truly have a unique way of singing his tunes...
"Over the border........ and back to the snow........."

i am not a huge fan of Oasis but i must say, they sound very good live. Their new album is definitely than their last 2, which suck.......
If you like Definitely Maybe, you will most probably like Don't Believe the Truth...

Anyway, there were lotsa angmos over there. I was thinking that maybe MOST of the ang mos in Singapore were down there in the indoor stadium rocking away. At 1.70cm tall in the free standing arena, i must say that i was rather vertically challenged.

Short girls had their boyfriends carrying them on their shoulders. How about short guys like me? Remember the last time when you watch a live concert on TV? Remember how people on the arena below the stage were jumping up and down frantically. Hmmm, now i finally know the true reason. Other than dancing (jumping) to the music, they are attempting to jump above the heads of the taller dudes in front for a better view of the band on stage. So i must say that the band really had me rocking (vertically) to their tunes man!!!
